KiraStudio Launch

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a project I've been working on for a while: KiraStudio. It's a small, cross-platform music app that grew out of tools I find interesting : things like FL Studio Mobile, Vital, BeepBox/JummBox, and Caustic. The goal was to make something approachable, but still deep enough to experiment with and grow into.

It's mostly beginner-friendly, but it puts a lot of emphasis on automation and sound shaping, so there's plenty of room to explore once you dig in. You can draw notes in a piano roll, build instruments, chain effects, and automate almost anything using curves and envelopes.

Visually it might look a bit like a DAW, but it's not trying to replace one. The workflow is intentionally different: there's no plugin support, and MIDI is limited to file import/export and using a controller to preview sounds. It's meant to stay focused and lightweight rather than become an all-in-one production environment.

The current 1.0 release leans toward video game–style music, but the underlying sound engine is designed to expand beyond that. As more people experiment with it and share feedback, the plan is to grow the app with new instruments, effects, and features that support a wider range of styles.

The Windows version is free, the other platforms are paid. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or anything like that.
